Lifetime Manufacturer’s Warranty
& Crash Replacement Program
We’re engineers who ride. We know what breaks pedals, because we’ve done it ourselves - usually on something we should have seen coming. That experience is built into every Dropbear MTB pedal we make, and it’s backed by this warranty.
We build these pedals to last. If something goes wrong that shouldn’t, we’ll make it right.
Lifetime Manufacturer’s Warranty
Dropbear MTB warrants its pedals to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original owner when used as intended for mountain biking. “Lifetime” means for as long as you, the original purchaser, own the product. This warranty is not transferable to subsequent owners.
If a manufacturing defect is found, Dropbear MTB will, at its discretion:
-
repair the product, or
-
replace the product (or provide an equivalent)
What's covered
-
Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship
-
Structural failure of axles, bodies, and load-bearing components under normal riding conditions
What's not covered
We ride. We know what breaks things on the trail — big rocks, bad lines, sudden trees, and the occasional decision that felt good at the time. We’re not judging. But this warranty covers what we got wrong in the making, not what the mountain (or gravity) had to say about it.
This warranty does not cover:
-
Normal wear and tear — pins, bearings, bushings, and surface finishes that wear down through regular use
-
Crash and impact damage — rock strikes, drops, cased landings, that rock you didn’t see, or anything involving sudden contact with the ground (see Crash Replacement Program below)
-
Damage caused by improper installation or incorrect torque
-
Damage from poor maintenance, neglect, or leaving them in a state you’d be
-
embarrassed to describe to us
-
Modifications, non-standard repairs, or use of non-approved parts
-
Use outside intended mountain biking application — motorised use, commercial hire, or anything your insurer would raise an eyebrow at
When it’s genuinely unclear what caused a failure, we’ll give you the benefit of the doubt. If you’re not sure whether something is covered, reach out before you assume it isn’t.
Crash Replacement Program
Crashes happen. We know — we’ve been there. If your Dropbear MTB pedals are damaged in a crash and are no longer safe or rideable, we’ll help you get back on the trail.
How it works
-
Available to the original owner with proof of purchase
-
30% off a replacement set of Dropbear MTB pedals
-
Damaged pedals must be returned for assessment
-
No limit on the number of claims, but we reserve the right to decline claims that suggest something other than normal riding is happening
This program exists because good gear shouldn’t end up in the bin after one bad day. It’s not a free replacement — but it’s as close as we can make it while keeping the lights on in Brookvale.
How to make a claim
Email us at support@dropbearmtb.com.au with:
-
Proof of purchase
-
Clear photos of the product and the issue
-
A brief description of what happened
We’ll assess every claim honestly and quickly, because any time off the bike is time wasted. Shipping costs to return a product are the responsibility of the customer. If we confirm a manufacturing defect, we’ll cover return shipping to you.

Your rights under Australian Consumer Law
This warranty gives you specific rights and benefits on top of what you’re already entitled to under Australian law. It doesn’t replace or limit those rights — it adds to them.
The benefits provided to you under this warranty are in addition to your other rights and
remedies under Australian law, including the Australian Consumer Law.
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
What this means in practice: even after this warranty period, if our pedals fail in a way that a reasonable person wouldn’t expect given the price and our representations about quality, you may still have remedies available to you under Australian Consumer Law. We won’t tell you otherwise.
If you have questions about your consumer rights, visit accc.gov.au or contact the ACCC on 1300 302 502.
